Prerequisites
We recommend that learners have knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system to:
- Configure the Windows 2000 environment
- Create and manage user accounts
- Manage access to resources using groups
- Configure and manage disks and partitions, including disk striping and mirroring
- Manage data using NTFS
- Implement Windows 2000 security
- Optimise performance in Windows 2000
Students should also have knowledge of basic Transact-SQL syntax (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements) or have completed Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (2071). Alternatively, they should have completed the KnowledgeNet class Introduction to Transact-SQL.
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database Design and Implementation
The Microsoft SQL 2000 Database Implementation course gives students the skills and knowledge necessary to design and implement enterprise database solutions using SQL Server 2000. Using our self-paced KnowledgeNet Interactive training solution, students will work through a system of modular lessons and hands-on labs to understand product architecture, write Transact-SQL code and master the procedures for planning, configuring and deploying a database using SQL Server 2000. This course will prepare students for Microsoft Certified Professional Exam 70-229, a core credit for the new Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certification and an elective for becoming a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, students should have an understanding of basic relational database concepts and terminology, and of the SQL database language.

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment Management and Maintenance Expert
This course is intended for systems administrator and systems engineer candidates who are responsible for managing accounts and resources. These tasks include managing user, computer and group accounts; managing access to network resources; managing printers; managing an organisational unit in a network based on the Active Directory service; and implementing Group Policy to manage users and computers. This course also provides students with the knowledge and skills that are needed to effectively maintain server resources, monitor server performance and safeguard data on computers running one of the operating systems in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 family.

Before attending this course, students must have:
