An active property market has turned interior design into a boom industry in recent times. A number of talented homeowners have turned their renovation experiences and their eye for colour and shape into lucrative careers transforming other peoples’ homes.
The Cengage Education Interior Design course introduces students to the principles and practices of this exciting discipline. You’ll learn the basic elements of design and the appropriate use of colour, materials and finishes.
The course is a useful starting point for a career with department and furniture stores, design firms, hotel and restaurant chains and textile manufacturers.
On completion of your course:
Upon successful completion of the Interior Design course you will receive a Statement of Attainment accredited by the Victorian Qualifications Authority.
This course contains selected modules from the Certificate IV in Arts (Interior Decoration) (14300VIC). These are:
- VBG881 Colour Studies
- VBG883 Design Principles and Elements
- VBS638 Material and Finishes

The above competencies are nationally recognised and accredited by the Victorian Qualifications Authority.
